4 Starter Tools that Boost Your Brand
When you think of brands like L.o.u.i.s. V.u.i.t.t.o.n., Coach or Tori Burch, what comes to mind? Does a certain experience put you in their store or on their website? Likewise it’s necessary to set up your brand identity accordingly.
Right out the gate here are 4 things to do online:
1) A website and hosting that belongs to you. Not one of those freebies that you get from someone like Wix or Godaddy or Vistaprint
2) Opt In box and Autoresponder. Your visitors are probably not going to make a purchase on the 1st exposure to your brand. While they’re on your website you want to get them into an exchange, even a free one because once they leave your site, you may not see them again. Having a system that allows them to enter their contact information and automatically sends them information and updates is a top way to build that relationship over time. The messages you create will reinforce your brand while adding the sense of familiarity which respectfully wins sales.
3) Professional Photography or video. Our business world is more transparent than ever, so if you’re “hiding your face” your going to be pegged suspicious. Add a photo or video of you and/or your team so that you come from behind the screen. This adds that personal touch to let your audience know you are a real person.
4) Blog. This is where you have your daily conversations. You can talk about trends in your industry, inspiration, annoyances and more. Update your blog at consistently and you’ll start to see a community gather to support (and invest in) you. One way to keep your readers posted about your content is to use RSS feeds.
I’m amazed and how often I encounter a website or brand that doesn’t have these simple core components in place. Businesses that don’t leverage such simple technology tools are really missing out on a lot of opportunities. Don’t be one of them. What tools do you rely on most that drive your business up?
