Are you surrounded by a team of experts?
Hang with me here for a minute because this is going somewhere. Tuesday night I was in my kitchen looking at what was left in the cupboards and wanted to know what I could do with some Chia seeds, bananas and almonds.
Ok, a bit of background… Darren and I were challenged a few months back to eat everything in our cabinets before we go grocery shopping and it took us 4 MONTHS to do so. Since we have, we now look at what’s in the cabinets before we go shopping for the next week’s worth of food. Yesterday the pickings were slim… Chia seeds, bananas, almonds.
So… I called up my handy dandy kitchen, recipe and nutrition expert Jodi Graber of Bravo Wellness. She had JUST walked into her apartment from the airport. I kinda knew that might be an inopportune time, I knew I was cutting it close, but I did it anyway (isn’t that what friends are for?).
So I said, hey Jodi, quick question… what can I do with Chia seeds, bananas and some almonds? Thinking she’d say… not much, you need to go to the grocery store and get off this eat everything in the cabinets kick you’ve been on. INSTEAD she said… oh, well, take about 3 spoonfuls of chia, add them to some almond milk (which I make at home, btw, she knows that) and let it gel a bit. Once it gels throw in some banana, almonds and anything else you like, it’ll be like a pudding.
VOILA… a nice, sweet and flavorful meal. One phone call. Expertise on speed dial.
I’d like to say I’m “special” but I’m sure Jodi has conversations like this with all of her clients. I’m just glad I’m in the circle. You need expertise in all areas of your life, doncha think?
I could have spent 20-30 minutes looking on websites trying to find out what Jodi told me in about 3 minutes. Pretty cool. What type of experts do you have in your arsenal?
